How can you supervise your child and ensure his safety?

Every parent knows that it can be very tricky and time-consuming to stay with their kids all the time. But even if your kids are away, it’s always important to find a way to connect with them and supervise them in case something goes wrong.

What can happen?

The thing to note here is that there are lots of unlawful people online ready to drive your kids towards doing bad things. And that’s why you always need to act as fast as possible. Talking with your child and understanding what he is dealing with is extremely important.

But when it comes to supervision you can use some remote monitoring security systems, as those can be great to use. They will help you keep an eye on your child even if you’re not at home. You can also give your child a phone so they can call and contact you whenever they need it the most and that can be extremely important all the time.

The Momo Challenge is a great example here. This internet hoax pushed kids towards doing very traumatic, sometimes even death-defying things that would lead to their death. The problem is that some kids eventually died due to this hoax, so your child is in grave danger if he just listens to anything that happens or it’s shared online. It’s your responsibility to understand what type of dangers are lurking online and you need to prepare your child for any issues like that.

What can you do?

  • The first thing you want to do is to adjust the privacy settings on social media. This way your child will find only content geared towards him. The chances of running into something like the Momo Challenge will be a whole lot lower.
  • You can go one step forward and use a phone monitor. This will help you track your child with great ease and it will eliminate any concerns that you may have. The security system idea listed above can also work really well.
  • Limit the amount of time your child spends in front of a phone. You don’t want him to be controlled by the virtual world and the need to post or share stuff. Show him that there are much more important things in life. And that will generate a sense of prioritization
  • Tell your child that there are unlawful people online and offline that will want to harm them. They should contact you when they receive any challenges or when someone pushes them to do something. It might be something wrong.

Since the Momo Challenge is widely spread online, it’s easy to see that you have to take action as fast as possible. Ensuring your child’s safety has never been more important and you are the only one able to do that. The best thing you can focus on is taking complete care of your child and eliminating any possible problems and distractions. Even if it seems or feels time-consuming, results can be very good. You just need patience and constant communication with your child as you try to avoid all these hoaxes and crazy challenges!
